“Jack and the Beanstalk” was the latest pantomime staged by the Players in February 2009. It was written by  Richard Hills and  produced by arrangement with Jasper Publishing Ltd. Directed by Duncan Saunders,
it was a resounding  success. It played to full houses on Friday and Saturday and there was a record audience  of 130 for the Thursday.  The cast included twenty youngsters which bodes very well for the future.

“The Giant is always hungry even though Blackheart  does his best to keep him  fed with regular human offerings.  Idle Jack is  duped by Blackheart into selling their precious cow,
Daisy May for a  worthless bag of beans.
When the Princess Amelia is kidnapped, Jack  who has fallen for her, climbs the Beanstalk to rescue his beloved. A traditional Panto romp follows Jacks efforts to win her hand, make his fortune and kill the  Giant.”
