"Uffington 2011" was the first Autumn production by the Uffington Players for 5 years - in celebration of the new stage.
Based on the fast approaching Summer Olympics in London, Uffington 2011 posed the fantastical notion that our Village could actually host the games, in the best way they know how - hanging out the bunting! Using local writing and devising talent, the Uffington Players brought you a comical slant to the historic event, harnessing and poking a little bit of fun at the excitement to come in London 2012!
The audience figures were brilliant, almost to Pantomime standards, and we had some great feedback from those who attended. We created a mixture of sketches, songs, dances and even mime, which were challenging but a lot of fun for everyone, whether original members or new faces to the Uffington stage. The Backstage crew rose to the challenge as ever, even managing to create a swimming pool on stage! A heartfelt thank you for creating such an amazing effect, and for being such good sports. Thank you to everyone who helped me bring my first show to life and made my first attempt as director a success.
The “torch” can now be passed onto what promises to be the most brilliant and ambitious pantomime yet - See future plans page for details.
Hope to see you all there.
